ProCon partners shaping better continence care in long-term care
Bladder health and continence care are essential for the dignity, independence, and well-being of older adults — yet urinary incontinence remains a neglected area in long-term care, despite affecting up to 75% of nursing home residents in Europe.
To address this challenge, the Global Observatory of Long-Term Care (GOLTC) established the Interest Group on Continence Care in Long-Term Care. This international group gathers researchers, clinicians, care home practitioners, and patient advocates committed to improving continence care through knowledge exchange, best practices, and innovation.
We are proud that several ProCon project partners are actively involved in this initiative:
- Javier Jerez-Roig, University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (Spain)
- Adrian Wagg and William Gibson – University of Alberta (Canada)
- Hannelore Strauven – KU Leuven (Belgium)
- Mary Lynne Van Poelgeest-Pomfret, President of WFIPP
- Tomasz Michalek, World Federation of Incontinence and Pelvic Problems (WFIPP)
On the GOLTC platform you can:
