Impact
By developing open-access and evidence-based courses, PROCON will improve the skills and competences of Higher Education Institutions, Vocational Education and Training providers, and their teachers. Educators will specifically enhance their capabilities in areas such as healthcare and long-term care innovation, continence care for older people, digital skills, new technologies in gerontechnology (including artificial intelligence), entrepreneurship, green and resilience skills, and sustainable development.
PROCON’s innovative training courses will strengthen the skills and competences of Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training students in gerontology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, better preparing them to serve a growing segment of the population.
Thanks to the free availability of PROCON’s educational programs and the creation of a Virtual Community of Practice (VCoPs), knowledge exchange between nursing home staff and experts will be enhanced, leading to improved staff skills and competences.
The PROCON educational toolkit for nursing home residents and their families will increase their knowledge and skills regarding continence care, improving the quality of care and the application of PROCON’s results.
Continence care is a significant strategic opportunity in health and ageing sectors. The project’s recommendations will foster innovation, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs and startups, and enhance employability across various professional roles, including engineers and business development specialists.
PROCON is strategically designed to influence policy development in health, ageing, and continence care. Policy recommendations (from Work Package 6) will be co-created with stakeholders, ensuring relevance and boosting adoption.
By promoting better continence care, PROCON can help reduce falls, healthcare costs, and support healthier ageing. Collaboration with WFIPP, SINUG, and EAU, alongside methods like Theory of Change, will maximize policy impact.
