Through co-creation, ProCon will reshape development approaches, build essential skills, and innovate care services for older adults. More specifically, ProCon will deliver the following key results, driving improvements in care quality, operational efficiency, and long-term impact across nursing homes.

Framework for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Nursing Homes:

Building upon the EntreComp framework, ProCon will guide the evaluation of technologies for continence care and shape educational programmes for healthcare students and professionals.

Technological Solution for Continence Care delivery:​

A multi-sensor system integrating existing technologies will be used to monitor and enhance continence care by analysing movement and other physiological data.

Three Innovative Training Courses:

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Healthcare: Focused on new labour opportunities in gerontology, technological skills and sustainability, this course will empower healthcare professionals to deliver innovative care.

  • Resilience and Flexible Work Practices: This course will foster resilience and teamwork while introducing new work practices and digital tools to enhance well-being and engagement in long-term care.

  • Continence Care in Nursing Homes: The ProCon team will conduct a multinational pragmatic study to assess the effects of the training courses in the improvement of continence care in nursing home residents.

A Toolkit for Continence Care

 co-created with nursing home staff, residents, and families, will provide a patient-centred resource to enhance continence care quality.

Policy recommendations

for innovation and continence care will be developed to sustain and enhance the initiative and encourage scale and spread.
